The late Whitney Houston's final film appearance is scheduled for this summer's "Sparkle," a remake of the classic 1979 movie of the same name. Featuring "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks and current "The Voice" judge Cee-Lo Green, "Sparkle" tells the story of a young woman struggling to become a star against all odds.
Houston appears in the film as the lead character's mother, Emma, a single mom doing her best to do right by her children. It's bound to be an emotional performance, not just given the tragedy surrounding Houston's death, but the first look at her character seen in the just released "Sparkle" trailer. "Sparkle" is scheduled for release on August 17, 2012.
