Leonardo DiCaprio was my original bad boy. Watching him in "Titanic" was the first time I realized I wanted to do more than just play tag and ride bikes with boys. Leo and I even got into trouble together. My colored pencil attempts at recreating his naked drawing of Rose (Kate Winslet) -- which my mother discovered under my bed -- resulted in the most awkward parental sit-down of my life.
Aside from fueling young girls' fantasies of sacrificial love and riding in cars on boats with boys, Leo has always been a committed environmentalist. He takes commercial flights rather than chartering private jets, drives a Toyota Prius, and even has solar panels installed on his house. In 2010, he donated $1,000,000 to the Wildlife Conservation Society, and most recently, he launched a sustainable coffee line from which 100% of the profits will go to environmental charities supported by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.
The line -- named Lyon coffee -- is sold at La Colombe Cafes, William Sonoma stores, and select Whole Foods Markets. You can also purchase it directly from their website. "Raising awareness on the most pressing environmental issues of our time is more important than ever," Leo said in a recent press release. "I am thrilled to be a part of this new project…that will help aid the shift to a truly sustainable future for the planet and its inhabitants."
