He's steams up the silver screen, especially in the new Spanish-language film "Casa de Mi Padre" with Will Ferrell, but in real life Gael Garcia Bernal is all about preserving the environment. The Hispanic heartthrob recently tweeted about the importance of doing away with the use of plastic bags at grocery stores.
Hay que traer bolsos del mandado a todas partes. No vaya a ser que nos ofrezcan una bolsa de plástico y aceptemos por güevones.

Translation: We must bring grocery bags everywhere. Let's not be offered a plastic bag and accept for being lazy.
As of January 25, cities in California are restricting the distribution of plastic bags at stores. Starting in October, supermarkets, pharmacies, and retailers in all of those Golden State areas can give out recycled paper bags, and charge a 10 cent fee per bag to encourage shoppers to bring their own totes to the store.
According to the Earth Resource Foundation, the pollution caused from the production of plastic bags is incredibly harmful to the environment. Plus, the littering of all that plastic hurts wildlife, and accounts for a lot of waste in landfills. Now more than ever, we need to get on board with Gael and bring our own shopping bags to stores to join the campaign against plastic.
