Electro British rockers Muse have been in London working away on their follow-up to '09's The Resistance for quite some time now, and a newly unveiled trailer from the group suggests the new effort – dubbed The 2nd Law – is only a few months away.

The aforementioned trailer contains a montage of news footage against a dramatic musical backdrop, which sounds like your typical over-the-top classically-inspired piece from Muse before it transforms into full-blown dubstep, which is all the more interesting considering the group had mentioned electronic music (Justice, to be exact) as inspiration, but refrained from ever using the term "dubstep."

As the trailer ends, the music fades out with the following text appearing onscreen: "New Album. The 2nd Law. September 2012."

Muse basisst Chris Wolstenhome had previously mentioned that their sixth album would be "something radically different," but their new dubstep-heavy direction is most certainly going to divide the band's fans.

But don't forget, the group is famous for mixing things up, as their last album featured a symphonic piece complete with three movements. For now, we'll just have to wait and see if the entire album takes notes from the dubtstep genre or if the preview track is just one of the influences to be heard.

The effort is currently being wrapped up in London with producer David Campbell, who has worked on over 450 gold and platinum albums with everyone from Michael Jackson to Aerosmith and orchestrated the arrangements for the much-publicized musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark."
