While Sunday's European Music Awards were mostly about celebrating great music, Miley's antics and the return of Ron Burgundy, Jared Leto also used the night as an opportunity to talk about Typhoon Haiyan and how you can help.

"We are devastated that such a tragedy has crossed the paths of so many people and their lives in the Philippines," Jared said. "What a tremendous and horrible event that's taken place. So we are sending our thoughts and our hearts your way. We love you guys and we're thinking about you."
Jared also spoke about the typhoon while on-stage at the EMAs. "We're here celebrating today, but we are thinking of you in other places, people that can't be here with us celebrating tonight," he said. "So make some noise, let them know we love them and we are thinking of them today here at the MTV Awards."
His words got quite the applause, but since applause doesn't fix broken buildings or put food in someone's belly, Jared also told MTV audiences about a great way to give back. You can support UNICEF, which is getting important things like shelter, food, water and medicine to children in the Philippines. More than 4 million young people have been impacted by the typhoon, and 600,000 people are homeless.
Besides helping UNICEF, you can check out MTV Act's 6 Ways To Help Victims Of Typhoon Haiyan. As time goes on there will be more ways to give back, and we will keep you updated on what you can do.
