"Catfish" hosts Nev and Max have teamed up with MTV Act and MTV's campaign against digital abuse, A Thin Line, to create Over The Line Confessionals — a series of Q&A sessions with the online relationship experts. In today's video installment, the fellas tackle what to do if you're unsure of exactly how old your online crush is.

Obvi, if you're not sure if someone is as old — or as young — as they say they are, you should ask for proof of age. "Some sort of school ID or a driver's license," suggests Max.

Seeing as everyone and their mother is good at Photoshop these days, Nev thinks you should trust your eyes. "So long as his video was working when you guys were chatting initially... so long as he doesn't look that he's 40," he jokes. But seriously, video chats are your best and safest bet when it comes to online dating. It's pretty hard for someone to lie about their age and identity when you're talkin' to them face-to-face, or rather screen-to-screen!

Regardless of how old you or your crush are, Nev wants you to "always remember to be careful. Make sure if you do end up meeting or sending pictures to the guy of any nature, that you do it in a mature way and nothing your reveal of yourself is too private or too personal."
