Conservative group Westboro Baptist Church has announced plans to picket Taylor Swift's August 3rd concert in Kansas City, Missouri...due to her "whorish face" and "sin-coddling songs."

Mkay.

In a press release on their website, WBC states that Taylor "uses her God given talent to warble about fornication instead of warning her fellow man about the coming destruction." I dunno, guys. I'm really not getting the fornication vibe from the lyric, "It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters and make fun of our exes", but I suppose that's the whole thing about slut shaming -- it doesn't really make sense!

Although the folks at WBC are entitled to their opinions, their harshly-worded announcement is an example of slut-shaming at its finest. Slut-shaming is just another term for bullying, only specifically when degrading a woman for her sexuality. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a 23-year-old woman exploring her sexuality, as long as she's doing it safely.

Gaga, Beyoncé, Madonna, Taylor -- all of these renaissance ladies challenge outdated societal norms by celebrating their beauty (and their booties!). Women are entitled to just as much sexual freedom as men, and shouldn't be put down for seeking it. In fact, can we just do away with the term "walk of shame" already?!
