Lady Gaga is always flawless, but our Mother Monster was pitch perfect at the 2013 NYC Pride Rally this weekend. The singer made us all proud when she belted our country's national anthem after giving an inspiring speech to the crowd.
As you might have heard, last week we said goodbye to DOMA and Prop 8. Gaga was at the event to celebrate the community, and she opened up to them about how much they inspired her. In her speech, she let them know just how special the occasion was by saying, "My LGBT friends and fans always said to me, 'I knew Lady Gaga when'…well, look who the star is now."
Although the singer could have jumped straight into the Star-Spangled Banner, Gaga went on to make us seriously tear up instead. She continued, "Now I get to say that I knew you when. Now I get to say I knew you when you suffered, when you felt unequal, when you felt there was nothing to look forward to. I knew you then, and I knew you when, but I really know you now."
