As is usually the case after a long weekend, there's a growing pile of "Star Wars" rumors that need dissecting. From John Williams' possible return, to Harrison Ford's (not so) confirmed return, and a rumor of a possible story, people love talking "Star Wars," so let's get started.
John Williams: "You guys want me back, right?"
At a recent concert for the Young Musician's Foundation Debut Orchestra (via First Showing), the famed "Star Wars" composer made some statements that imply he wants to continue working on the series, despite talks of a possible retirement.
"We're about to play Star Wars and each time we play it, I'm reminded of the first time we played it decades ago. Neither I, nor George, nor anyone else involved thought this would go far or in a few years there would be a sequel and I'd have to revisit the themes...and years later another trilogy. Now we're hearing of a new set of movies coming in 2015, 2016...so I need to make sure I'm still ready to go in a few years for what I hope would be continued work with George...."
But should Williams come back, especially when the alternative would presumably be Michael Giacchino? Our vote: Let's see one killer collaboration.
The Adventures of Luke Skywalker, Jr.?
Another rumor popped up over at Showbiz411 that claimed to know a few aspects of the script. According to the post, Luke, Leia, and Han will all be back in Episode VII, but the action will focus on their children. If you ask us, this just sounds like someone not super familiar with the realm of movie rumors publishing already well-circulated theories, but backing them with their name. This rumor has been around from the very beginning, right?
Han Solo Is Back, 100% Super Confirmed (Or Not)
Latino Review published their first big "Star Wars" scoop, but it hasn't held up to the quality of their Marvel scoops so far. The site claimed that Harrison Ford is confirmed to return as Old Han Solo in "Episode VII," something EW's Geoff Boucher shot down pretty quickly. But since it seems like Ford's return is inevitable (what else is he doing?), we thought we'd take a crack at coming up with some stories for the old smuggler.
» Intergalactic terrorists take over the "Millennium Falcon." Han Solo fights them off.
» Han Solo gets an earring, and everyone is kind of creeped out by it.
» Han Solo teams up with a young version of himself played by Shia LaBeouf. Everyone hates it.
