"Game of Thrones" returns in only four short months, but there's not much that we have seen of the upcoming season. HBO has released a new production video that catches fans up-to-date on some of the exciting new additions to the series during season three.
Chief among them are the new character introduced this time around. As fans of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series know, some of the most important characters to the world of "Game of Thrones" are introduced a couple books in. We're finally meeting them now, like Meera and Jojen, the Queen of Thorns and Mance Rayder -- and yes, we catch glimpses of all four in the production video.
"We always envisioned season three as the place we needed to get. If we made it through season three and we could do season three right, then it would be all worthwhile," co-creator D.B. Weiss admitted in the video.
In addition to those four exciting characters, the featurette offers up glimpses of Queen Cersei hanging out with Margaery Tyrell, Daenerys Targaryen guiding what looks to be the Unsullied and even Tyrion Lannister's healing -- and permanent -- face scar. Fortunately there's no glimpse of the Red Wedding, since that would get us too depressed this early on.
"The game's been upped," Emilia Clarke said of the upcoming season. "There's so much more danger, there's so much more risk."
"Game of Thrones" returns on March 31, a date that can't seem to get here fast enough.
