It's time for a celebration! Today, A THIN LINE turns three years old.
A THIN LINE is a campaign that helps you deal with digital abuse in your lives, schools, and communities. Since 2009, you've drawn your line against digital abuse, told us what you think is over the line when it comes to cyberbullying and sexting, and stood up for your rights with the Digital Rights Project. In these three years, over one and a half million of you have taken action to help end digital abuse, and are continuing to do so every day.
Even though it's our birthday, today we want to give YOU a present. This week, we'll be giving the first 5,000 people to join the Digital Rights Project free A THIN LINE x Jac Vanek x Pete Wentz gear. Supercool designer Jac Vanek, who collaborated on the gear with musician Pete Wentz, had this to say about why she got involved with A THIN LINE: "Digital abuse is a very serious, complicated, and potentially detrimental issue that affects millions of people around the world. The best way to take action against digital abuse is through awareness, community, support, and love. I have personal experience dealing with digital abuse, and I want anyone else going through it to know that you are not alone. We are all in this together."
If you're ready to stand connected with Jac and other young people taking on the issue of digital abuse, simply head to rights.athinline.org to get involved and get your gear! Already joined the Digital Rights Project? You'll have other opportunities to get free gear – follow @a_thin_line for surprise giveaways over the course of today. If you already have an A THIN LINE bracelet, send us a pic of you rocking it by tweeting it at @a_thin_line or posting it on A THIN LINE's Facebook page, and we'll share it.
