Jessica Simpson is a new mama to baby girl Maxwell, and she's also gotten a new job with Weight Watchers while she comes down from the weight she put on during her pregnancy. And she's being paid a reported three million dollars for it! OK, who wouldn't be compelled to lose lbs. with that amount of $$$$ but the "Fashion Star" judge is stressing the importance of health and fitness -- not unhealthy things like extreme diets.
Face it, we've got major issues with weight in our culture. For a few years now J. Simp has been harassed for her weight (oh, come on) with mean jokes and comments from her mommy jeans incident to even now, with rumors that she's not losing her baby weight fast enough. Wha?! But she knows that superficial stuff like that doesn't matter. Maxwell's mom Tweeted:
Just bought all the girls in my @weightwatchers group pedometers to track their steps.10,000 steps a day = 5 miles!Let's step it up!

Yup, you heard it from her: she's talking exercise and inspiration. Far too often we see photos of celebrity women who just finished giving birth and then the weight seems to magically disappear, but for most women, that isn't the case. And some people have bugged Jessica for not immediately looking the way she used to during her "Dukes of Hazzard" dayz (again, a big come on). Jessica's right that health is the way to go! And she once said on "Oprah," about her bod: "I love my curves, I'm not ever going to be a size zero and I don't want to weigh 90 pounds."
This isn't the first time Jessica has pushed for health instead of the push to "look a certain way." A couple years ago she came out with the documentary series "The Price of Beauty" to show what people will put themselves through in order to be "beautiful." But beauty comes from within, right Jess?
