Ya know what's even better than watching the Olympics on TV? Watching the Olympics in person -- yowza! And if you're a college student with killer writing skills, you might just be able to win yourself a free trip to the 2012 Olympics in London.

The Olympic Values Essay Competition is up and running, and you can submit essays until May 31. According to the official site, the competition wants essays from people that "addresses their interpretation of the meaning of Olympic Values for the 21st Century and outlines a creative way to realize them in the years ahead through sport, education, culture, or other public initiatives." Does that get the wheels in your head turning?

Essays should be between 400-500 words. When the contest is over, three winners will be chosen, and they will get not one, but TWO trips to London. From June 29 to July 1 they'll be at the Olympic Values Symposium -- which is a fancy name for a conference where athletes (Will Michael Phelps be in the house?), young leaders and others will be talking shop about Olympic values (there are 3 values: excellence, respect, and friendship). In August the winners will get flown back to Merrie Olde England for the Olympic Games themselves!

You have to be a college student (undergrad or grad) to take part but it doesn't matter what country you live in. The Olympics are global so it's only appropriate, ya know? All of this is being put on by the Worldwide Support for Development, World Faiths Development Dialogue and Georgetown University. I know everyone's pretty tired of writing essays with summer around the corner and all . . . but how many essays can give you a reward like this? You'll get to witness history right in front of your eyes! And Michael Phelps' hot bod. SIGH.
