There are two new girls in town for the sophomore season of "X Factor" --  and these starlets are sure to shake up the judges panel: the OG teen queen Britney Spears and pop princess Demi Lovato!

OhhMGeeeeee. This is gonna be awesome sauce. Rumors had been swirling for some time about Britney's involvement, so when Fox announced the news yesterday that both Spears and Lovato were joining the "X Factor" cast, the interwebz was immediately was abuzz with predictions about this freshman class of girl power. Will Brit-Brit and Demi be judge besties or frenemies?!

These divas will def have plenty to dish about -- they're both former Disney darlings who were singing pop songs before they hit puberty. And sadly, Brit and Demi suffered similar consequences from growing up under the harsh spotlight of fame (Spears's star was a supernova and Lovato's was just starting to burn bright) and both spent time in rehab to sort things out. It happens to at least Half of Us, so we were totally rooting for the stressed singers to bounce back.

Luckily, the resilient ladies did dust their shoulder pads off and hop on the comeback train, but here their tracks diverge. Demi took on her dark time head-on, releasing the self-empowerment power ballad "Skyscraper," telling other struggling teens that Love is Louder, filming the a doc special with MTV about her experience and doling out refreshing #realtalk that's made her a role model for anyone dealing with bullying, eating disorders, and mental health issues.

Instead of speaking out about her personal downspiral, Britney has been on PR lockdown during her road to recovery. But she's still raised her voice for causes she cares about on Twitter – plus she has a history of putting her money where her heart is by donating to relief funds for 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and the Japanese tsunami.
