Recently, thousands of students at over 300 colleges raised their voices at the #FixYoungAmerica rally in the hopes of attracting one modern American hero to the cause of ending youth unemployment: Stephen Colbert. As the Comedy Central host would say: Nation, did he hear them?!
Judging by the butt-ton of tweets, Facebook posts, photos and talkin' babies that the #FYA army of youth activists lobbed at the Colbert camp -- we're guessing the eagle-ridin' comedian most certainly got the message. And while Stephen hasn't formally given his tip of the hat yet, we bet he will once he gets his personal edition of the #FYA guide to gettin' America's groove back, Millennial-style. The book -- which comes out on May 9th -- features the most brillz experts talking about the power of youth entrepreneurship and how it can turn this country's economic bummer jam into a party rock anthem.
And #FYA also deserves props for reaching its crowdfunding goal of $30,000 with a fierceness -- and donations are still coming in. Every last penny counts until the fundraising ends on May 1, as they work to get their good jobs gospel in the hands of decision makers in schools, universities, big corporations and government.
So raise your voice to #FixYoungAmerica and if you need some inspiration, check out photos of students from across the country who rallied for the cause!
