Our very own Alexandra Govere hit up the 2012 Coachella Music Festival -- not one but BOTH weekends -- and reports back with some of her favorite fashions, performances, and more! She recaps not what went down, but what went down right. Tweet us at @MTVact and let us know all summer long how you've been doing summer music festivals right.
+ Spirit Hoods
Festival goers' inner animals were out to play all weekend with Spirit Hoods. Spirit Hoods' PRO BLUE line donates 10% of every sale to non-profit organizations that protect the endangered species associated with each hood. These organizations include Polar Bears International, Pandas International, the Snow Leopard Conservancy, and Wolf Hollow. My friends and I rocked our Spirit Hoods all weekend; not only were we happy to support a good cause, but they gave us a good excuse to howl at the moon.

+ Rihanna's Peace "Shirt"
In true fashion-with-a-message fashion, Rihanna rocked a 'PEACE' t-shirt...if you can call it a shirt. Here at MTV Act, we care about making people happy, and aside from her shirt's positive message, we are certain that Rihanna's outfit made A LOT of young men smile.

+ The Hippy Look
The hippie look is, like, so in right now. When dressing like hippies, let's do our best to remember what exactly the hippies of our parents' generation stood for: not fashion, but action. I did my best to look and act like a hippie by collecting and recycling discarded water bottles around the festival grounds. For every ten cans/bottles recycled, festival attendees received an ice-cold bottle of water for free. Since Coachella takes place in a desert where temperatures often breach 100 degrees, this was a pretty sweet deal!

+ Swedish House Mafia Saves The World
One of my favorite Coachella moments was Swedish House Mafia's performance of "Save The World" It reminded me of the power we have as individuals, and the thousands of people singing along reminded me of the even greater power we have when we all come together. I wonder what would happen if we channeled the energy we used to sing and dance to Swedish House Mafia's song, "Save The World" into actually saving the world? Let's find out!
