On April 29, 1980, a boy diagnosed with leukemia, Christopher James Greicius, had his wish come true -- to become a policeman for a day and this helped bring about the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is now a household name for granting wishes to kids struggling with life-threatening illnesses. In honor of the org's start, this Sunday, April 29 is going to be World Wish Day. Celebs like Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, -- plus many others! -- are coming together for the 32nd anniversary.
So for World Wish Day, a PSA will be playing in Times Square (also the neighborhood of MTV) in New York City, with celebrities talking about the epic day. In case you're not going to be in the area, you can watch the video below! Besides Miley and the Biebz, you can see talk from dedicated supporters like funnyman Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show" and "Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro.
And Make-A-Wish is out there granting lots of wishes -- one approximately every forty minutes. And since its born day, the org has made over 200,000 wishes come true. Miley's been involved by hanging out with fourteen kids at her studio last World Wish Day and Justin's had four Wish kids in his music video "Pray." This World Wish Day is going to be celebrated in about fifty different countries, and it's a great time to talk about the bravery of young children and to help their dreams come true.
