Last week the cast of "Jersey Shore" helped with MTV's Sandy relief fundraiser "Restore the Shore," and Pauly D is continuing his relief efforts -- this time to help animals affected by Sandy.
DJ Pauly D filmed a 30 second PSA for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Snuggling with his publicist's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (omg, so cute), Pauly tells us how we can get involved. "Thousands of animals were victims of Hurricane Sandy," he says. "Since the storm, the ASPCA has been rescuing, sheltering and reuniting animals with their families. They have also been providing critical supplies and veterinary care." He also suggests two simple but super-beneficial things you can do.
+ Get informed. Check out the ASPCA website, especially their section on Sandy relief. While there, you can get info on how you can volunteer or even adopt a pet stranded after Sandy!
+ Text to donate. If you want to donate, get your thumbs ready and text ASPCA to 25383 to make a $10 donation.
Speaking to People magazine, Pauly explained why he got involved in this particular effort. "It was especially important with me to team up with the ASPCA because not only in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, but in general their efforts change so many lives and save so many animals."
Want to learn more ways to help dogs, cats and other animals impacted by the storm? Check out our "5 Ways to Help Pets Affected By Sandy." We've got suggestions like donating to orgs and giving old pet supplies to shelters. Animals might not be able to talk to us, but trust -- they will certainly appreciate it!
