In the new poster for "Only God Forgives," the next collaboration from the "Drive" team of Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn, the former is ugging it up in not-so-typical Hollywood tradition.

There have always been examples of attractive actors and actresses playing against type and going ugo for a role they care deeply about, but for the sure-to-be twisted "Only God Forgives," Gosling is hiding behind some serious effects makeup to give the illusion that he recently took a serious beating.

As excited as we are for a follow-up to drive, this first promotional poster, which showed up over at The Film Stage and is "presumably out of the American Film Market," is encouraging since Refn is willing to let his leading man cover up his pretty face for the film.

Aside from the new poster, one other detail came out of the clip screened at the AFM. According to The Film Stage, M83's "Sister (Part 2)" played during the segment, which falls in line with the synth-heavy soundtrack from "Drive."

Post-production of "Only God Forgives" is supposed to finish up next month, ahead of an eventual 2013 release.
