There's a storm of swords brewing in the Seven Kingdoms. It's just a shame that no one seems to realize that the real war lies north of Westeros.
"Game of Thrones" returns for its third season on March 31, 2013, bringing the frosty fury of winter along with it. Based on a portion of the third novel in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "A Storm of Swords," the teaser identifies what the real war humanity faces is truly all about — and it's nothing that any of our heroes, save for the men of the Night's Watch, seems to give a hoot about.
Watch the teaser below!
"The great war is between death and life, ice and fire," a woman's voice warns in the teaser. "If we lose… the night will never end."
Westeros.org believes that the voice in the teaser belongs to Stannis Baratheon's wife Selyse, and I'm hard-pressed to think up a better guess — unless perhaps it's Val, one of the more notable Free Folk who debuts in "Storm of Swords."
Regardless of who is speaking, the words themselves are what matters here. If the people of Westeros don't start paying attention to the terror beyond the Wall — if they don't stop playing the game of thrones… they'll lose and they'll die; there is no middle ground.
