Justin Timberlake brought sexy back, SNL back, Timbaland back and now he's bringing philanthropy back.
OK, philanthropy has always been rad (as well as Timbaland) but the eternally talented crooner will be taking part in the Stand Up to Cancer telethon happening this Friday, and he Tweeted about it.
Justin Tweeted:
Watch Justin Stand Up To Cancer this Friday, 9/7 and support a great cause! -teamJT ow.ly/diih5 #istandupfor @su2c
— Justin Timberlake(@jtimberlake) September 5, 2012
His Tweet links out to little vid that shows different stars saying who they stand up to cancer for (Whut, no JT?!). Well, he's not in the vid, but he will be at the telethon. And the video may be short, but it still packs emotion in it.
So, do you have any plans this Friday night? The telethon will air on CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox and other channels at 8/7 c on Friday night, and there won't be any commercials to get in the way. Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys, who are going to be performing at the VMAs tonight (yay!) will also be performing at this super important telethon. And guess who else will be there?! We'll be covering the telethon and give you a behind the scenes look at it.
The main aim is to get money donated to fund cancer research. So far about $200 million dollars has been raised in the few years this telethon has been around. If you can't afford to donate, there are still ways to take part. For one, you can check out the telethon and get friends and family to watch it with you. You can also take part on Twitter. Get the hashtag #istandupfor going strong! If you know someone who has or had cancer, this is a great way to spread the love and think about them. Justin's spreading the love, and you can help him stand up to cancer too.
