With the Republican National Convention just finished and the Democratic National Convention happening now, election season is getting into full swing. The youth vote is a big part of who will win this election (there are 45 million of us eligible to vote) and Lady Gaga wants to know what we're thinking.
Lady Gaga Tweeted:
So monsters 18+, (and under with opinions), what are your thoughts on the US election this year. What are you looking for in a president?
— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) September 4, 2012
Thousands of people Retweeted this, and a number of people answered her question, too. She got a lot of different comments. Some were flippant, like saying that Lady Gaga should run for president (sorry -- she's not 35 yet!). And there was some Team Romney and Team Obama fighting. Hey, let's be civil, right? Others got a lot more serious and said what was on their minds.
For one Tweeter, things like women's rights, LGBT rights and college debt were important:
.@ladygaga I want a prez who supports reproductive/sexual/union rights, jail for bankers/oil execs, + debt relief for homeowners/students

Another person said it was important for everyone to be equal:
@ladygaga He has to make his proposals so let everyone equal. No change. Nobody can stay down because of a federal law.

Another person said the president should be concerned about making life better for people, no matter what their income:
@ladygaga We need a president that's going to be obligated to make life better for the people, be it rich people or poor people.

Seems the election is big on Gaga's mind. Earlier in the day she had also Tweeted:
#VoteWithYourRightsNotYourWallet

So now we turn it over to you guys. What do you look for in a president? What rights do you have in mind when you vote? You can let us know and you can let Lady Gaga know, but if you're 18 or older, the best way to let all of us know is to get out and vote!
