The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards are going live on Thursday, September 6, so don't forget that you can still vote for the winners through Friday. Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes took to Twitter, hoping to take home the coveted moon man for Best Video with a Message -- but the other nominees are right there with him!

Gym Class Heroes is nominated for "The Fighter," and is up against: Demi Lovato with "Skyscraper," Kelly Clarkson with "Dark Side," K'NAAN with "Is Anybody Out There? (feat. Nelly Furtado)," Lil Wayne with "How to Love" and Rise Against with "The Ballad of Hollis Brown."
Travie's not the only nominee letting Twitterverse know they're up for a moon man. Demi Tweeted over the weekend:
All right you Lovatics - Skyscraper is nominated for the VMA for Best Video With a Message!! Vote here - smarturl.it/VoteForDemi

After getting news of his first ever VMA nomination, a super excited K'NAAN told his Tweeps:
Yo! I just got my first #VMA nomination! Best Video With A Message. A whole category JUST for me Ha I kid mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/… but do VOTE!
— K'naan Warsame (@KNAAN) July 31, 2012
That same day Rise Against also Tweeted about their nomination:
Rise Against was nominated for an MTV VMA for BEST VIDEO WITH A MESSAGE for "Ballad of Hollis Brown. Vote here!mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/…
— Rise Against (@riseagainst) August 1, 2012
Lil Wayne was also psyched about the nod to him. During an interview for HotSpotATL.com, DJ Drama gave him props for scoring a nod in the category, to which Weezy responded: "That's awesome right there."
Kelly Clarkson has been busy covering other rappers on the road, but her team did shout out the original American Idol's nomination on her website, and it got responses like "this is a brilliant video" and "So super fantastic!!!" from her fans. Will their support for Kelly be enough for the win?
Each one of these vids offers something powerful. Demi's is about staying strong despite circumstance, Kelly's is about body insecurity and bullying, K'NAAN's here to encourage you during dark times, Lil Wayne shows us what a difference being there for others can make, and Rise Against deals with the realities of poverty.
Now, the choice it totally up to you! Take action below to vote, and don't miss the big show on Thursday, September 6 at 8/7c on MTV to see if your faves take home a moonman.
