Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson puts on his NYPD blues and hits the streets with Forest Whitaker in "Freelancers," the new cop drama hitting Blu-ray, DVD and VOD today (August 21). Jackson stars as Malo, the son of a slain New York cop who joins the force and learns the horrible truth about his father's death, taking him down the deadly path of revenge.

In this exclusive behind-the-scenes look at "Freelancers," 50 Cent explains what appealed to him about the project and the journey of his character.
"Just seeing the growth of the actual character through different time periods — he regresses to the point that he's even worse than his mentor, Forest's character," he said.
The featurette cuts to a scene of Malo in a squad car with Whitaker's character, LaRue, who is diving nose first into coke while the two of them are on the job — which means that if 50 Cent is to be believed, Malo's story is going to get a whole lot darker before it gets any brighter.
"He follows his own code," Whitaker explained of LaRue's actions. "He's going to live his life and die in his life by his own beliefs, by his own code. He doesn't care what other people think."
