Back in July during San Diego Comic-Con, when thousands of fans started rolling on the ground and speaking in tongues about the robots punching monsters, the general public wasn't privy to the awesomeness that is Guillermo del Toro's "Pacifc Rim."

Until now...

The first trailer for the jaegers versus kaiju epic launched last night. You can catch the full preview after the jump, and after you do so, start counting down to MTV News' exclusive trailer commentary with del Toro, which premieres tonight!

"Pacific Rim" opens on July 12, 2013.
