They're rich, they're hot, they're in love, and they're saving the world! Prepare to feel inadequate, because these are our top philanthropic celebrity couples of 2012.
+ The Cool Kids: Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield make cool people look nerdy and nerdy people look cool. They're awkwardly hot, and actually hot, and totally redefining the lunchroom hierarchy. (If only Emma were around back in '99, when I was getting made fun of for wearing high-waisted shorts!) To top it off, the "Spiderman" costars are also way into charity. This fall, when they realized there were paparazzi lurking outside of a restaurant, they didn't rush out the front or sneak out the back. Instead, they took a moment to turn heads towards two awesome organizations: The Worldwide Orphans Foundation, which helps orphans become successful, independent members of society, and Gilda's Club NYC, a support network for people battling cancer. From Emma's inspiring acceptance speech at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards to Andrew's epic belly dance for charity, these two are shamelessly philanthropic and so effortlessly hip.
+ The Youngins: Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez
Justin and Selena may have hit a rough patch last month (and, by "rough patch," we mean they weren't photographed together for like 2 days…), but they're finishing 2012 strong and as one of the most philanthropic couples of the year! Justin donated a portion of every concert ticket he sold this year to Pencils Of Promise, and Selena is like a mini Angelina Jolie -- working with UNICEF to bring food, clean water, medicine, and education to kids around the world. Oh Jelena. You are younger and yet so much more awesome than I will ever be.
+ The Vampires: Nina Dobrev & Ian Somerhalder
Thanks to these two, I spent most of 2012 fantasizing about what it'd be like to hook up with a vampire. But "Vampire Diaries" costars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev aren't at all the bloodthirsty creatures they play on TV. They're two of the most positive celebs in the Twitterverse -- using the platform to promote love and philanthropy, and never to bash on other people or celebs. (AhemROBKARDASHIANAhem) The two also speak out for Ian's Ian Somerhalder Foundation -- an organization dedicated to bettering the environment and fighting for animal rights.
+ The Royals: Prince William & Kate Middleton
Millions of girls and boys' fairytale dreams were shattered last year when Prince William married Kate Middleton, but the expecting parents are so good together that we can't hate! (Plus Prince Harry's still on the loose, and waaaay more "accessible," if yaknowadimean.) The couple is constantly attending charity galas, and Kate recently aligned herself with 5 charities, including the East Anglia's Children's Hospices, which care for children with life-threatening illnesses.
+ The American Royals: Beyonce & Jay-Z
From charity concerts, to political statements, to becoming parenting role models, Jay and Beyonce juuust might take the cake for most philanthropic couple of 2012. Jay made headlines when he came out in support of marriage equality, B' repped World Humanitarian Day, and together, they raised $4 million for Obama's reelection campaign! "Beyoncé could not be a better role model for our daughters," Obama said at the event. "Because she carries herself with such class and poise." Was that a Presidential stamp of approval?! Winning.
+ The Ladies: Ellen DeGeneres & Portia DeRossi
From Liam Neeson stripping to Andrew Garfield belly dancing, Ellen has been the force behind some of our fave charity stunts of the year. Ellen supports various charities, while Portia has been extremely outspoken about healthy eating and body image over the years. Most importantly, the female power couple are big supporters of LGBT rights (obvi), and even rocked purple on Spirit Day!
