The second trailer for Disney's "Lone Ranger" just hit the web, giving us a better look at what we can expect from the duo of Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer when the western-fantasy hits theaters in July 2013.
Gore Verbinski's take on the iconic hero adds a supernatural spin to his origin story. The set-up for the Lone Ranger hues closely to the traditional version, expect for one aspect. Originally, the Lone Ranger is the sole survivor of an ambush, and Tonto nurses him back to health after faking his death. In the new version, the Ranger is not quite as lucky.

The new Lone Ranger is a "spirit walker," someone who apparently cannot die in battle. This twist definitely brings the new film closer in tone to "Pirates of the Caribbean," which is obviously something Jerry Bruckheimer and his accountants would approve of.
"The Lone Ranger" hits theaters on July 3, 2013.
