If you got to live stream -- or if were you lucky enough to attend -- the Global Citizen Festival put on by the Global Poverty Project over the weekend, then you know how great it was. Selena Gomez, one of the stars at the event, Tweeted afterward sharing that same sentiment.

The singer/actress and UNICEF ambassador Tweeted:

It continues: "...announcement tonight at the Global Festival to raise 500 million dollars by 2015 to help kids all around the world. Well need all your help please register here and give what you can every little bit helps."

Selena's right: every little bit helps. Because if enough people give a little bit (either money or volunteer work) it adds up. More than 60,000 people attended the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday (us included!). There were awesome performances from the Foo Fighters, K'NAAN, and more. Hugh Evans, who is CEO and co-founder of the Global Poverty Project said that they've reached their goal of getting $500 million pledged for the fight against poverty.

Of course, that's just one goal, because the fight against poverty is far from over. It's not just about providing poverty-stricken people resources -- it's about breaking the cycle of poverty, and that sort of thing takes a lot of time and energy. But we can all make a difference.

Olivia Wilde, who was part of the Global Citizen Festival with Selena, Tweeted a picture of the many, many people who attended:
