If there's one thing we've learned from this new teaser, it's that this movie is not your parents' "The Lone Ranger."
The trailer for Gore Verbinski's take on the classic character has finally arrived, and it's just as fantastic as we expected. Though it focuses more on the setting of the movie than its titular character and his sidekick Tonto, it's clear that Verbinski has a general understanding of what makes a Western work in modern day Hollywood.
This trailer was more of a tease than anything else, but it shows that "The Lone Ranger" will be "Pirates of the Caribbean" meets the Wild West, with trains and horses replacing armadas and pirate ships. That's okay with us, because "Pirates of the Caribbean" worked just as well because of Verbinski's direction and Depp's acting as it was because of the director's treatment of his setting. "The Lone Ranger" will work if only because it's set in a glamorous version of the West, and we're okay with that.

In addition to our looks at Depp and Hammer in action, we also get our first tease at Helena Bonham Carter. She looks fantastic as always, but her reveal is nowhere near as cool as Depp's. We couldn't help but get a bit nostalgic when he uttered "kemosabe."
"The Lone Ranger" stars Hammer, Depp, Tom Wilkinson, Carter and William Fichtner. It's due in theaters on July 3, 2013.
