The Fourth of July may have just ended, but if you're still feeling patriotic for stars and stripes after all those hot dogs and barbecue, check out this interesting story involving veterans -- and skydiving!
The Wounded Warrior Project, which provides assistance for men and women injured while being part of the armed services, got with the Red Bull Air Force to inspire veterans and give them a fun day. They did this through Jumping for a Purpose.
Basically, the Red Bull Air Force invited service members who'd been recently wounded to skydive. Why skydiving? Well, skydiving is normally thought of as a sport you can only do if you're super healthy, and this could be an inspirational way to show the members that they've still got it. And if you're into skydiving, it can also be a really freeing, fantastic feeling to be shooting through the sky.
In a neat little vid, we're introduced to several of the vets who took part in Jumping for a Purpose. They suffered different degrees of injuries, but they all had a blast skydiving and you can see that none of them are sitting around feeling sorry for themselves. Tyler, a Corporate in the Marine Corps who lost some limbs, says he doesn't feel disabled.
"It's always just kind of like, what's next?" he said. "Is the world ready for me?"
We can tell from this vid that Tyler and his fellow skydivers are def ready for the world!
