As we get closer and closer to San Diego Comic-Con, Neill Blomkamp's vision for his follow-up to "District 9," the Matt Damon-starring "Elysium," get a little clear, piece by piece.
The latest glimpse at the upcoming sci-fi allegory gives us our first official look at Damon, all decked out for the film's futuristic setting. The photo comes from Entertainment Weekly (via The Playlist) and their exclusive-packed Comic-Con preview issue.
In the still, a bald-headed Damon wields a massive futuristic gun that would look at home in the divided Johannesburg of "District 9."

Another noteworthy aspect of the photo is the mechanisms strapped to his arms and shoulders, augmentations that look like something to enhance his strength.
We'll have to wait a while before we get to see the full picture of "Elysium." The film comes out next March.
For now, you can read the plot synopsis below.
In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government of?cial, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
