Singer, actress, mommy and now blogger Jessica Simpson has published a guest blog at Parents magazine, but the piece isn't all about mommyhood and raising kids. Jess actually spends a lot of the piece talking about self-acceptance, and that's a message that's perf for anyone!

In her piece Jessica talks about how she doesn't want her daughter Maxwell get hurt by shallow criticisms for things like her weight. Jess says that she's been publicly attacked for her looks, but she's also attacked herself and been her own worst critic.
"Raising Maxwell makes me realize that I don't want her to see me beat myself up for things like food choices or numbers on a scale," Jessica blogged. "I don't want her to learn anything like that from me. Those things don't determine who we are and instead make us feel terrible about ourselves. I want to teach her to value herself, listen to herself and tune out the world. I want her to know her value, rather than spending her energy fighting negative voices from within. I want to teach her to figure out what is truly right for her rather than worrying about what anyone else thinks."
Ya see what I mean? Even though it's technically a parenting piece, it hits home for so many reasons beyond that. Self-acceptance is something Jessica has been talking about for years, and it's always so refreshing to hear. Maybe you can say that Jessica Simpson is a singer, actress, mommy, blogger and motivational speaker?
