Congrats to creative, compassionate students of Elon University in North Carolina. They just won the 2013 RAINN Day Multimedia Contest. They came out on top with a stop-motion PSA that educates on sexual assault and empowers people to take a stand against it.
RAINN, which stands for Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, partnered with MTV and Unite Women for RAINN Day in September, and about 300 schools competed to win this prestigious and helpful award. Elon's Feminists for Equality, Change and Transformation (EFFECT) also took part by gathering signatures of students who want to end assault at their school. Take a look at the winning PSA below:

Did you SEE those numbers? Every two minutes a person is sexually assaulted in the United States. One-fourth of women are sexually assaulted at college. A little over half of sexual assaults are not reported, and 97% of offenders don't go to jail...at all.
Do you want to stop seeing these alarming numbers? Follow Elon University's lead by getting involved with RAINN and speaking up at your school or community. And if you've ever been taken advantage of and need help, you can always call 1-800-656-HOPE to reach someone at RAINN. We're in this together.
