Lots of us played with plastic dinosaur toys as a kid (still got mine!!!), but Ian Somerhalder's using these well-known and beloved childhood toys as a way to make a point, and to get us talking about climate change.
Ian Tweeted:
Question of the day!Im here in Boston talking climate change-funny(or NOT funny) how our irresponsible… http://t.co/sNJI5EaHZv

His message continues on Instagram: "use of ancient plants and animals is changing our world, warming us.NOT good!! Pass it along!" He also includes this thought-provoking pic that will probably make you think of dinosaur toys in a whole new way:
If you pass this image around on social media, odds are it'll get your friends talking! And like Ian, this can be the perf opportunity to start talking about the earth (and maybe pull out your old dinosaur toys for nostalgia's sake).
If you want to join Ian's work, I'm sure he'd be happy to recommend his group, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. Ian's also got something big going on for his b-day this year, and you have till December to take part! He wrote, "I have a goal this year… we can get 1 million people of the 7 billion on the planet to donate $35 dollars. I know it sounds simple, but all donations big and small fuel our resources to continue expanding and making change for the voiceless of this planet: our skies, seas, energy, habitats and of course our furry friends."
He's asking for $35 dollars because it's his 35th b-day, and can you imagine how much he'll be able to help the world if he gets those funds?! What a birthday that would be!
