We've told you about the philanthropy of "Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder, but did you know his costar and GF Nina Dobrev is also big on making the world a better place? And (spoiler alert) Nina might just have Tweeted about something that has to do with both her and Ian.
Elena Nina Tweeted in two parts:

RYOT is a news site that wants you help you become the news. In other words, it wants you to help change the world. It has leading stories in areas like US, World, Politics and Entertainment, and in every story there's an action box where you can take action with a leading organization on the same subject. For example, in an entertainment article about Frank Ocean and the Grammys, the bottom of the article suggests you support the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBT-rights org. We do the same thing here at MTV Act with our action widgets at the bottom of the stories. (And we hope you've loving and taking part in our actions!)
Oftentimes RYOT asks you to donate to an org, but if money's tight, you can help fund a nonprofit just by going to the site. A portion of money they make from advertisements goes to a nonprofit, and the lucky nonprofit changes each week.
How did Nina learn about this awesome site? Maybe because (small world!) Ian Somerhalder is on the advisory board, alongside other two of our other fave people, Sophia Bush and Olivia Wilde. Now here's an example of celebs using their star power to make the world a better place.
