Before Kid Rock presented Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with the Best Rap Song Award at last night's Billboard Music Awards, he took a moment to throw some shade at … kid rockers. "Let's give it up for people lip-synching under pre-recorded music," he told the star-studded audience.

Kid could have been referring to any number of artists, young and old, but seeing as his sly comment came right after Selena Gomez performed "Come & Get It" and right before Macklemore & Ryan Lewis accepted the award for their breakout hit "Thrift Shop," many are assuming he was referring to one of the two. All we have to say is … WHATEVZ! We couldn't care less about who does and doesn't lip-sync; we're more interested in who uses their real, offstage voices to do good.

+ Kid Rock

Kid Rock  recently donated $250,000 to the Detroit Historical Society to build the Kid Rock Music Lab — an interactive gallery that will cover 100 years of Detroit's musical history. Kid is all about giving his hometown a voice, and often donates to local schools and charities.

+ Selena Gomez

Lip-syncing or not, Selena uses her real voice to raise awareness for important causes as UNICEF's youth ambassador. Over the years, she's spoken out about health, clean water, child hunger, education and more, proving that what an artist says offstage is just as important as what (or how) they sing onstage.

+ Macklemore

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were recently the subject of an "SNL" lip-syncing fiasco, but it turns out their microphones were just turned down too low. Whether you're on Team Mack' or Team Rock, there's no denying the Best Rap Song Award winners' amazing talents. And while "Thrift Shop" took the cake last night, their song "Same Love" deserves a room full of shiny accolades for its positive message about same-sex marriage.
