Throw it up, throw it up Looks like we've got another star to add to our 5 stars who give as much as Santa! Over Christmas weekend, Rihanna gave Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados medical equipment worth an amazing $1.75 million.
While Queen Elizabeth Hospital is located on RihRih's home country of Barbados, it's not the only thing that makes this gift-giving so personal. The equipment benefits a section of the hospital specializing in the fight against cancer -- Rihanna lost her grandmother, Clara Braithwaite, to cancer last summer. That section of the hospital has been named Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine in honor of Rih's "grandolly."
This past weekend there was a ceremony to commemorate the terrific donation. Rihanna took to Twitter to talk about it, and shared a great pic of her with her grandpa at the ceremony:

Rihanna was very happy that her charitable money go specifically to this hospital and this cause. "This was my way of giving back to Barbados in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program," she explained. "I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend it. I'm really excited about it."
Not all of us have $1.75 million to give to hospitals, but we can still get together to help fight diseases like cancer. You can shine bright with Rihanna by helping support orgs like F-Cancer and SU2C, below.
