The Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen has found himself on a bit of a hot streak lately. In the last month, the former Bond baddie has found himself cast as the villain for Marvel's upcoming Norse sequel, "Thor 2," and he won a Best Actor award at Cannes for his role in "The Hunt." Now TVLine is reporting that Mikkelsen has just signed on to play one of the most notorious villains of all time.
According to TVLine's report, Mikkelsen will play Hannibal Lecter in the new NBC series based on the characters from Thomas Harris' book "Red Dragon." The series is said to take a contemporary spin on the tale, which was previously made into two films, "Manhunter" with Brian Cox as Lecter and "Red Dragon" where Anthony Hopkins reprised the role he made famous.
Mikkelsen will star in the show opposite Hugh Dancy.
