Today isn't just awesome because of its numbers (12-12-12 -- c'mon!) but also because of "121212 - The Concert For Sandy Relief" airing live tonight on MTV and other channels. (You can also catch it livestreaming at MTV.com!) Alicia Keys, Kanye West, Chris Martin and more will be performing, and they're doing it for a good cause.
Alicia "Girl on Fire" Keys Tweeted this morning:
Reminding my fam to tune into an incredibly diverse show planned for tonight's #121212Concert! Hope you all can watch! bitly.com/121212Watch

So the awesome talent is lined up, but this will be more than a totally cray good concert, because every penny earned -- from the tickets to the donations -- will go to charity. Specifically, the money is going to The Robin Hood Relief Fund for their Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Already Robin Hood has given more than $8 million in grants to help the situation with immediate efforts, but now it's time to look at long-term goals.
And this concert is serious business, being broadcast to two billion people in North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia. Others lined up to perform include Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel and Eddie Vedder. So get ready to tune in to Alicia & Co. tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, and follow us on Twitter @MTVact for behind the scenes tweets at the show. This won't just be a girl on fire...this will be a whole stage on fire!
